Dear Parents/ Carers

I have received a call from ESTYN this morning to inform us that our school will be visited by the inspection team from Monday the 18th of November to Wednesday the 20th. This is part of the current ESTYN cycle of inspections. There is a leaflet attached with more information for you to read.

There are two ways that parents/carers can now contribute towards the inspection:

  1. There is an online questionnaire that you are asked to complete and a link is below. The questionnaire is open until Sunday the 10th of November at 11a.m.

  1. The inspection team will be holding a parent/carer meeting at 3:15 p.m. on Monday the 18th of November, in the main hall, to discuss the school’s provision. It would be great to have as many parents/carers attending as possible. Children should not attend this meeting so please let your class teacher know if your child needs to stay with the class teacher while you attend.

Dear Parents/Carers

This has been such a busy term and our Ambassadors have been asking children what their highlights so far have been:

Dosbarth Oxwich: we have been settling into nursery enjoying lots of activities like cooking, painting and playing outside.

Dosbarth Bae Pobbles: we enjoyed learning that all families are different and our parents came to see all our work.

Dosbarth Port Eynon /Dosbarth Rhossili: we loved going to the museum and looking at different memory boxes. Mrs. Lecrass brought in her old teddy bear!

Dosbarth Horton /Dosbarth Pwll Du: the Dark Skies Wales dome was awesome and we learned that Jupiter has a red eye that has been growing for 300 years! We looked at zodiac signs in the stars.

Dosbarth Llangennith /Dosbarth Langland: our trip to the theatre to see The Fight was our favourite thing and making boxing rings with animations.

Dear Parents/ Carers

The children have settled in well to their new classes and our topics are in full swing. Information on class topics and homework menus can be found on the school website, along with events that are happening. So far this term, Y5/6 have visited Theatr Na Nog and the museum, Y3/4 have experienced the Dark Skies Wales space dome, Y1/2 have had a mystery memory box visitor and Reception have enjoyed settling in and thinking about Me and My World. The children will continue to add ideas into topic maps throughout the term.

Over the summer holidays, improvements were made to the premises. New window panels were installed in our Y1/2 classrooms which has made a big difference to the classroom environment and access to the outdoors. Both our Y3/4 classes now also have direct access to the outdoor area. We have plans to source new equipment to be used out there. A new fire alarm system has been commissioned throughout the school. We have new windows and doors in our kitchen area and John and Alison have been busy painting classrooms and outdoor areas. Current roof repairs have been completed and the solar panels have been reinstated.
