Pupil choice activity this week is a Sports theme

  1. Research a famous sportsperson of your choice e.g a footballer, Paralympic swimmer like Ellie Simmonds, gymnastics, rugby player etc. Create a fact file about your chosen person on j2e or on paper at home. 
  2. There are two websites below with activities. Tom Palmer writes children's books with sport themes and the sport shed has activity ideas

Have you ever read a story with a sporting theme? Write a book review to recommend to the rest of the class.

Competition 1 – work will be sent off to the national competition. Produce a piece of artwork in the form of a poster featuring an anti-racism message that can be used publicly to campaign against racism. 

 

Competition 2 - The Creative Writing Category is an opportunity for pupils to express their emotions about racism and its damaging effect.

Pupils can submit a poem, short story, blog article or lyrics.

After listening to the story Star of Hope Star of fear last week, write a short book review. What was the story about? How did it make you feel?

  • Design a welsh love spoon and a card – show a family member or friend how special they are. See the instruction sheet for ideas.
  • Look at the POBL ideas for learning that don’t involve being online.

Outdoor learning

  1. Your outdoor learning activity this week, will be to exercise in the garden! Design a short program for the family to join in with. You could include star jumps, hopping and skipping.
  2. Create something associated with love from natural materials in your garden. Send your photos in.

During our phone calls last week, some children have suggested a weekly child led activity. This week’s suggested activity is all about dinosaurs. 

  • Write a fact file about your favourite dinosaur.
