Hello. P.E. is now on Tuesday. Please remember to send children in wearing appropriate kit and trainers. Many thanks,
Wow1 Another busy week! The highlight this week was our 'Survival Day'. Dawn came in to teach us how to light fires safely as a survival skill and how to make sure we are safe near fire. We roasted some yummy marshmallows on the fire! We learned how to find water and filter it to drink. Also we foraged for food around the school grounds and found that many were edible and would help survival. Next we made a variety of shelters and thought about the design and how we could improve them.
We learned a variety of new skills and it made us think about how surviving using just the environment around us would be challenging. Well done everyone for taking part. Thank you to Dawn for making it a memorable day!
Wow what a busy week again! The highlight was the visit from Mr Little. He came to talk to us about the rainforest and how humans are destroying animal habitats and the lives of the rainforest people by cutting down trees in huge numbers. We learnt a lot and also enjoyed the games and the puppet who nearly ate all of our fruit!! A memorable morning and an enjoyable learning experience!!
A great week and a lovely Shwmae Day! Diolch.
We listened to music by welsh singer Katherine Jenkins and found out about her life. We had a class colouring competition and spoke as much welsh as we could. We all looked smart in our welsh colours to celebrate 'Welshness'.
We learned about desert regions and how hard it is to survive there.
Well done everyone and we look forward to half term at the end of next week.
Another great week !One of the highlights were our science show on Thursday when a lady came to show us a series of experiments and showing us that science is fun! The lady gave us a shock at the end when she produced a loud bang and we all jumped!
Also we enjoyed our 'Spooky Day' on Thursday and we all dressed up in spooky clothes. We did some spooky craft and did some puzzles and activities.
The half term has been very busy and we have settled well into our new classes. Well done everyone for all your hard work!
The second half of term has been very busy so far! Highlights have been-
Raising money for the Poppy Appeal/Poppy craft.
Children in Need fund raising.
Making bug shelters/nests to link to instructional writing
Data handling activities.
Compass work-linked to our Survival topic.
Visit to the Vue Cinema in Swansea.
Our Christmas preparation has already started!
Well what a busy few weeks! We have been preparing for our Christmas dvd and learning our songs. We have made decorations to sell for our Enterprise project. The children have entered lots of competitions to win Christmas prizes and Braydon won our bauble competition! He had the closest guess. Well done Braydon!
We have been continuing with our work on data handling and odd and even numbers. We have completed instructional writing on shelters. We all wore our Christmas jumpers today and we all looked wonderful! We are looking forward to Christmas and our visit to Playzone next week and enjoying our time making Christmas cards and calendars.
Hello and welcome back! Happy new year! We have all come back to school and settled well! The details for this term are on the dojo and the subjects we will be studying.
We will be sending out a virtual homework grid and the children can choose which activities they would like to do.
Please let us know if we can help with anything and either dojo or see Mrs Arnold or myself at the end of the day.
Diolch yn fawr.
