We started our topic by completing puzzles of fairytale characters and then sharing what we knew about them. 

The first story we explored was an animated film called Elio. We made predications about what it would be about before going to watch it at the cinema. 

 

The story was about a little boy who helped the aliens. We practised our cutting and sticking skills to make our own alien characters. 

 

We gave instructions to the Coding Mouse to make him travel to different characters on the Fairytale Land map. 

We read The Three Bears Story and made the three bears porridge. 

We read The Three Billy Goats Gruff and gave some ideas about how the Troll could be kinder. 

We used our counting skills to build bridges for the goats to get across the river. 

We then made some paper bridge sculptures. 

We read The Gingerbread Man story and worked in groups to create story maps. 

We then found a letter from the Gingerbread Man telling us that he had left some clues around the school to help us find him.  

 We still couldn't find him, and then he sent us a video!!

We designed traps in the sensory room to catch him. 

We also wrote wanted posters to pin up around the class. 

We finally caught him and, as a reward, he left us the ingredients to make our own Gingerbread men.
