Welcome to a new school year in Reception/Year 1!
We are so excited to settle all the children into their new class and to get stuck in to some fun learning.
A great effort for Christmas Jumper Day and we managed to fill 2 A3 jumpers with your spare change! Diolch Yn Fawr!
We won Ed the Eco Dragon this week!! We made sure our lights were switched off, we recycled our paper and plastic bottles and we turned the projector off when we weren't using it.
We were lucky to have some children from year 6 come to our class and talk to us about children's rights. We completed a puzzle as a group, chose which children's right it represented and then drew a picture shoeing that right. Diolch Blwddyn Chwech!
We made a giant Pudsey face using fingerprints and joined in with the live UK fitness session with Joe Wicks.
We celebrated Shwmae Day 2019 by decorating flags in welsh colours and having an outdoor welsh disco! Joio!
Food Standards Agency visited school to teach us all about food hygiene through and amazing and informative pantomime called "Pirates of the Chillibean"!
Thank you to Mrs. Welsh who took groups out for Forest School last week....even in the rain, which made the oozy mud the best for splashing about in! We had fun and made ourselves out of leaves and twigs. Great creativity!
What a busy week!
Thank you to all the parents who came to our drop in session to welcome you to the new school year. It was lovely for the children to show you what they have been learning and what their favourite things to do in class were. I think all enjoyed and we will definitely be holding more sessions in the future.
We celebrated Designed to Smile's 10th birthday with some fun dental hygiene activities. We drew some germs onto the laminated teeth and brushed them away with toothpaste, we played a counting teeth game, and Year 2 came to class with some instructions on how to brush our teeth.
Finally, thank you for all your contributions for Jeans for Genes day.
Roald Dahl Day 2019
Rhodri sent the class a letter telling us his favourite Roald Dahl book was "The Enormous Crocodile".
We thought of what clever tricks the crocodile could plan to trick the children, we made green crocodile jelly, we did some fantastic crocodile teeth counting, we made crocodiles out of shapes, and we predicted how the story was going to end.
So much fun from one story...Diolch Roald Dahl!
Welcome Back to Summer Term!
We have a busy term ahead of us and an exciting topic of "Land Ahoy!"
On Monday 20th May, Spectrum Project will be coming into class to do the first of three sessions over the next few weeks. The Welsh Government funded project supports children's personal, social and emotional skills, and teaches them about healthy relationships. For more information please see link below.
Easter Egg design competition.
Criw Cymraeg set us the challenge to design an Easter egg and they jugded the best one in each class! |Well done to Isaac who was the winner! A lovely design!!
Well done to our Easter bonnet winners! I wouldn't have wanted to be Steve , the PCS0, who had to judge all the marvellous creations the children brought in! Da iawn pawb!
Kerbcraft Celebration Assembly
On Thursday 20th March, we had our certificate presentation to award the children for their dedication in completing all the Kerbcraft road safety sessions since January. The children have learnt all about crossing the road, crossing between parked cars, checking drives before crossing and crossing at junctions. We had a special visit from Rocky the Road Safety Rooster to give us all a high five!! Family members also stayed to create a road safety poster with the children.
