Happy New Year! The class have returned to school very excited and motivated to learn. We talked about the new year being a time to think about change. We set ourselves a challenge of what we want to get better at in 2024.

Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children - we all looked fabulous for a good cause!

Children in Need 2023 - we completed our class Bearpees challenge, with a grand total of 1020 over the wèek!

We set a challenge of drawing Pudsey and we definitely have some budding artists in our class. Da iawn!

We had a fabulous Spooky Day! Dressing up, dancing and games led by the Year 6 Ambassadors, pumpkin craft competitions and making Pumpkin pizzas for snack!

We celebrated the 10th birthday of Shwmae Day by making Tedi Twt welsh cakes, playing Shwmae balloon games and designing a 10th birthday cake.

Wishing a lovely summer to this fabulous Reception Class!

Our Class Charter

We had a lovely Coronation celebration day. We made sparkly patterned crowns, we made healthy pizza crowns and we had an outside disco.

For Sun Awareness Week we read the story "George the Sun Safe Superstar" to teach us how we can keep ourselves safe in the sun.

We then drew ourselves being Sun Safe Superstars.

Two of our friends shared with us how they would be celebrating Eid. We made some very pretty mehndi patterns.

Red Nose Day fun 😊

We had so much fun finding out about the Hindu Spring festival of Holi. We were very lucky to have a parent come in and cook Gulab Jamun with us and we all thought they were such a tasty treat! We then had an amazing afternoon with a mini colour festival with Indian music outdoors.

Fantastic costumes for World Book Day and some amazing competition entries for making a vegetable into a book character.

Well done to our Eisteddfod art winners.

Here is the Eisteddfod art work from the whole class. We used our trips to Swansea Community Farm and Swansea artist Pamela Jones's work "Sheep in Meadow" as our inspiration for our own sheep artwork.

An amazing Stay and Play session where pupils chose what they wanted to share with their families.

We enjoyed our first Play Pals session today. Reception pupils spent some time in Nursery playing with the younger pupils being talk partners and positive role models.

We had a great Rights workshop from Swansea Council. We talked about our wants and needs and worked collaboratively to display these using words and pictures.

We have enjoyed our Heath Hero sessions at Swansea Community Farm. We have learned about the animals needs, helped feed them and helped to herd the sheep. We also had a minibeast story and went bug hunting.

We had a great NSPCC Number Day - games in class as well as lots of outdoor fun exploring pairs of numbers and making natural numerals.

We love our weekly visits to Rhodri's Reading Cafe.

World Mental Health Awareness Day

We talked about ways to calm ourselves when we are feeling angry or stressed. We made relaxing rainbows to help us practice our slow breathing.

Shwmae Day 2022

We celebrated Shwmae Day by paintig rocks in colours of the Welsh flag. We then made the word Shwmae!

Spooky Day!

We had a great day for Spooky Day, exploring spooky senses and having a disco with party games. What a great effort.with costumes! Everyone looked spectacular!

Remembrance Day

We watched the animation "Poppies" to help us talk about why we take part in Remembrance Day. We then made poppies out of loose parts and printed poppies using a potato.
