Tell me a Tale

We started our topic with Film Week where we watched an animation called "The Bridge"

We made our own bridges to act out the animation.

We read the story The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We followed the clues to go on a troll hunt and found him hiding under our bridge! .

We thoughts our ways the Troll could have been kinder to the three billy goats.

We found all the puzzle pieces to find out what our next story would be...we made the puzzle together and found out it was Goldilocks and the Three Bears

We made 3 bears porridge...most of us thought it was yummy!

We played a "Race to the Porridge" game. We learned to count accurately and take turns.

We used the Numicon shapes to give 1 more and 1 less than a number to the 3 bears.

Our next story was The Little Red Hen. We took it in turns to be different characters from the story and asked the characters questions.

We followed the instructions to make Little Red Hen's bread rolls.

We read Stick Man because it was a great wintery story! We used sticks to learn lots of maths skills. We shared sticks in different ways.

We compared sizes and measured sticks.

We used sticks to be creative. We created clay and stick masterpieces!

We also makes mud paint to draw with our sticks!

We made our own Stick men and used them to retell the story.

We learnt about The Nativity story to help us with our Christmas Concert.

We thought about how important the star was in the story and used Vincent Van Gogh's starry night as inspiration for our Christmas cards.
