The Big Legal Lesson. We have joined a national movement of primary and secondary schools to celebrate Justice week.

Superlatives with Boogie Bear

Home learning Y5/6 

22nd - 26th February 2021

 

It is St David’s Day next Monday and even though we are not back together in school, we want to be able to celebrate. This week’s activities include the competitions we would usually take part in for our school Eisteddfod and there will be prizes per class. Pob Lwc! 

 

Language, literacy and communication 

Competition 1 – write a story ‘The day I met a dragon!’       

Write a story on paper or j2e. Use the story mountain to help you. 

 

Competition 2 – Handwriting                                                    Copy the poem in your best joined up handwriting. Send a clear photo of your entry via dojo. 

 

Competition 3 – The Bardic poem.                                     Write a poem about Wales! For this competition you must use a ‘pen name’ this could be a character e.g Mickey mouse etc so the other teachers don’t know who wrote the poem. This can be submitted on j2e or via dojo. 

 

ALL entries must be submitted by 11am on Monday 1st March – winners will be announced in the afternoon! 

Expressive arts 

 

Competition 1 – Art 

Create a Welsh themed piece of art, you can use pencils, felt pens, paints, collage materials, media or outdoor materials.  See the Welsh artist’s sheet for inspiration.  

 

Competition 2 – Creative 

Dress a leek to look like your favourite celebrity / singer or favourite Welsh icon e.g Tom Jones, Swans players, Welsh football / rugby players. Send your photos via dojo. 

 

ALL entries must be submitted by 11am on Monday 1st March – winners will be announced in the afternoon!

Competition 1 – work will be sent off to the national competition. Produce a piece of artwork in the form of a poster featuring an anti-racism message that can be used publicly to campaign against racism. 

 

Competition 2 - The Creative Writing Category is an opportunity for pupils to express their emotions about racism and its damaging effect.
