Home learning introduction

6.1.21 - 15.1.21

Hello and happy new year!  This is not the start of 2021 we would have liked to have but we have to work together to teach our children and make learning less stressful. We have put together some activities both online but also some which will give you the opportunity to have some fun with your children.

Please send photos through to us on Class Dojo, where the children will receive points for the work completed, children with the most points will receive a small prize from the box when we are back in school.

Well-Being

Children might feel anxious during this time and it is important that we help them recognise those feelings and help them to think of ways to express them. Below are some resources that will support you at home to build resilience and strategies for reducing anxiety.

Rainbow Toast

Paint your piece of bread with milk and food colouring and then pop your bread into the toaster for an arty breakfast. Make sure a grown-up is in charge of making toast, and let the little ones go wild with their colourful designs. You could even use a paper template for a really complicated pattern!

Outdoor Snap

Gather a small collection of items from the local environment, this could be out in your garden or if you go for a walk see what you can find.  Things like feathers, pine cones, pebbles and leaves.

Your child’s challenge is to search the area for the same objects, and then come back to see how many they’ve managed to collect.

This game will help them develop their memory and observation skills.
