Friday 17th February

Following the Super ambassadors missions and the cost of living we pulled a meeting today to discuss what we could do to help everyone in school.

We brainstormed a Swop Shop to try and help with how expensive uniform could be.

We thought about running it on a Thursday after school from Miss Bacons class before we start Film Club.

This is something we want to launch properly after half term.

February 17th

Following on from emailing the City and county of Swansea to have more bins placed in Blaenymaes, we were lucky to be involved in a teams meet. Today our rights respecting ambassadors spoke with Pobl and Keep Wales Tidy - Phill Budd. We discussed the ongoing issues of minimum bins in Blaenymaes. Kate and Phill explained how many have been taken away due to fly tipping and something we needed to educate our community on. We have had approved a new bin for outside the school which is brilliant news with another 5 in the area coming very soon.

Wednesday 14th December

School Council have fed back the favourite clubs of their classes. We have had a huge variety and really excited to start these after Christmas. I (Miss Bacon) will take all the notes to our staff meeting and see which teachers are most confident taking which clubs.

Wednesday 25th November

We have launched our new school prayer which we have spent many meetings working on...

Help us learn, play and share,

Not just in school but everywhere,

Help us to be kind and have lots of fun,

Enjoying our time in the rain and sun,

We will try our best to shine and glow,

And do what’s right to bloom and grow.

Each class have been given a hard copy and have promised to learn it in class and assemblies.

Wednesday 19th October

We launched all our new initiatives in assembly.

Thursday 13th October

Today Mrs Lecrass joined our meeting with our school councillors, to discuss what is going well, any issues and solutions.

We feedback firstly, on our Super ambassador workshop and asked for permission to launch the new 'Ambitions for Wales' in our assembly. We want to help Rioco get every child signed up to have their voice heard.

School Council discussed, that after feedback from classes we would like an individual winner for purple pot for each class to have some fun time with Mrs Lecrass on a Friday afternoon.

With hope to encourage attendance in school we also discussed that if any class has 100% attendance, to be  allowed a Fiesta Friday afternoon. The best attending class of each term was also suggested for a fun trip.

We have planned a school council assembly for next week to feedback to the whole school.

Our next task was to ask their classes what after school and lunch clubs they would like to have?

Thursday 6th October

Today we discussed whole school feedback of purple pot winners and best attenders.  Our communication ambassadors are meeting with Mrs Lecrass before we announce our exciting news to the rest of the school.

Wednesday 28th September

This week the school council met for the first time. We discussed the following

  • Attendance
  • Four Purposes
  • Recycling
  • Purple pot winners

We have left your school council with a task to ask the whole school:

What would YOU like the purple pot prize to be?

What would YOU like the attendance prize to be?

If your class has 100% attendance should you have a different reward?

We will be discussing next week so make sure you let your representatives know your thoughts.
