The children followed a video using body percussion in the style of Samba. The children linked what they had learned and created a Samba rhythm in their group.
Using leaves outdoors to practise diving by 2, 5 and 10.
The children were given features of a poster which they had to put together in their groups. We had to use the checklist in our books to make sure the poster had all the correct features. Following this, we created our hot write persuading parents/carers to attend out school carnival.
Da iawn to our Three Cliff's winners for our Eisteddfod art competition. Caitlynn came 3rd, Kayla came 2nd and Darcyleigh came 1st! Fantastic effort from the whole class, bendigedig!
We used samples of Laura Ashley's designs to create our own artwork. We also designed our own printing tile whilst looking at inspiration from the designs. After this, we drew our designs on the printing tile and we used block paint to roll over the tile to create a pattern.
During our Cross curricular sessions we looked at the 7 continents of the World. We used this song to learn the continents which we really enjoyed!
We looked at flags from different countries that hold some of the biggest carnivals in the world. We then added these flags onto our World map in our books.
The children had a fantastic time on Friday trying these Chinese fruits. We are so proud of all children for trying new fruits. The Chinese fruits were: Persimmons, Lychees, Jackfruit, Asian Pears and Pomelos.
Following on from the Chinese New Year story, the children used JiT on J2e to create their own animation of the story. The children were able to select and re-size the correct pictures. All children enjoyed this activity.
The children enjoyed the story of the Chinese New Year. The computers were used to research all about Chinese New Year. The children found out the 2023 Chinese animal is the rabbit.
